Etruscan Goldsmiths’ school in Florence

The school

The Master has made the Etruscan goldsmith’s Art one of his greatest artistic expression. The Advanced Course of Etruscan Goldsmithing provides each student with all the Technical skills and historical knowledge necessary to create artistic jewel of great value. The methodological approach of the jewelry Sculpture School follows the tradition of the Ancient Florentine Artistic workshop: the master guides each Goldsmith student in the learning process by working side by side and stimulating their creativity.

The final aim is, both to train goldsmiths specialists in Etruscan Art and to stimulate the creative potential of each Goldsmith as well as of Artisans and Artists already initiated into this profession. The student  will then become the first disciples of the new artistic current founded by the master and which he calls Perceptive Dynamism.

Mission and skills

The mission of the Goldsmith School is to offer a tailor-made individual course, highly specialized and modular based on the requests and attitude of the student or professional who wants to specialize in the Etruscan Goldsmith Art to provide him with the highest degree of preparation possible. At the end of the course, the student or professional will have acquired in -depth professional and technical skills about the Etruscan Art of JEWELRY. The approach pursued by the MASTER is that of the stone or the metal used, they are not at the centre of the goldsmith’s art. On the contrary everything  must start from the form, from the emotion it inspires. Students will be thus be able to convey a strong emotional charge to their artistic words.

Final artifact

At the end of the Advanced Course of Etruscan Goldsmith, the student will be autonomous and will have learned the necessary techniques to bring the Goldsmith Etruscan Art.

The limited number of students ensures that each participant is followed by Dari, for more effective learning experience. The intimate dimension, a very high organizational efficiency, in a family and contemporary working climate.

The program

Timetable

Basic duration: 1 month
Full duration: 3 months.
From Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 16:00.

The courses have a variable duration from 1 to 3 months, based on the level of skills and availability of the students. The price is directly proportional to the duration of the training course. The courses have open dates all year round.

Thanks to the highly personalized dimension of the Alessandro Dari Jewelry School, the schedule of the lessons and the attendance may undergo changes, depending on the needs of the students. Master Dari is available to arrange Master Classes, Intensive Courses or Training Weekends with ad hoc programs.

Course modules

Theory and practice

The advanced Course of Etruscan Goldsmith Culture and of welding and mixed embossing techniques. It is necessary to reach the minimum number of 3 students for the course to take place.

Specifically, the module deals with:

– Study of metal alloys.
– Welding technique execution
– Granulation, study and practical execution
– Knurling, study and practical execution
– Water making, study and practical execution
– Mixed techniques of embossing in different volumes
– Drawing and technical study of a student’s work

The material used are provided by the Goldsmith School, as well as the tools necessary for. They are excluded from the materials: gold and precious stones.
